Birchbox October – Stylist

So this month you could apparently choose which box you wanted out of two – the back to basics or the stylist picks – but I seemed to miss the memo on that one so I was sent the stylist box.

The contents are a tad random and there isn’t really a theme to it and I’m not sure these are particularly stylist staples but nevertheless here’s what I got –

100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Lip Glaze

This is meant to be £19 full price!!! Which is outrageous for a lip glaze! The packaging is cute but really fiddly as you have to take off the white cardboard and tip it out of the pink tube to reveal a silver holder which was wrapped in some very hard to remove plastic covering!

The silver holder is lovely though and very modern. The lip glaze itself requires a few coats to get a good colour as you will see below.

It’s a good consistency not too sticky but it doesn’t smell very peachy or any different to any other lip balms, it reminds me of ones I used to get as a kid!

It’s a quite nice colour which is good for days when you want a bit of moisture and a hint of colour. I’ll probably pop this in my handbag.

Biodema Sensibo H20

This retails at £10.20 which is rather expensive for a micellar water but not the most expensive I’ve seen considering this is probably one of the most sought after micellar waters on the market right now.

It’s a cute little bottle so I’ll probably end up popping it in my travel bag rather than using it at home but I am looking forward to seeing the results from this one.

For the price  thought I will probably stick to good old Garnier!

Rituals Yogi Foaming Shower Gel

Birchbox seems to love this brand in their boxes I think I have 4 Rituals products now! I always find bath products to be such a random addition to beauty boxes, but then again if it was Lush I probably wouldn’t complain! Can you imagine a Lush beauty box?! They should so do one!!

Anyway I digress… I just sprayed what I thought was a little bit on my hand to try it and it foamed up so much as you can see below, oops! So I decided to wash my hands with it and its super soft and smells divine so I’m looking forward to using this!

Parlour by Jeff Chastain Smoothing Blow Out Spray

Birchbox seem too love this brand too! Anything that claims to smooth frizz is good in my books so I can’t wait to use this! although at £17 a full size unless it works miracles I won’t be repurchasing!

When Travelmate Sheet Mask

Apparently you take this away with you when you travel and leave this on for 20 minutes. My question is – who has a spare 30 minutes when you’re away travelling?! I  find it hard enough to find time for a face mask at home let alone when I’m away! It’s meant to undo damage from a long haul flight and inject moisture back into your face. I might take this to New York with me and try it the day after my flight if I get a chance! I like the idea of it I just think 30 minutes is a long time considering how busy and hectic things are when you go away!

English Laundry No.7 Signature For Her by Christopher Wicks

This is a nice idea I love perfume samples to pop in my handbag for on the go. This is such a simple and stylish packaging and it smells so fresh and lovely I love it! at £60 I won’t be buying a big one but it is a lovely smell.

What did you think of your Birchbox this month? Has anyone tried any of these to report on?

Thanks for reading!
