Foundations are an important part of my beauty routine and I love finding foundations for a good price that work.
This No7 foundation range is huge with different finishes to suit every need. My skin is oily and spot prone and this foundation is oil free so I was hoping this would be the one for me.
Here’s what I thought –
The packaging box is gorgeous and effective and modern looking and even though the bottle itself is plastic which can look quite cheap it still maintains it’s modern look.
The foundation itself is quite thick and isn’t runny. It blends super easily with a foundation brush and doesn’t require a buffing brush to get a smooth finish unlike others that I have tried.
It doesn’t dry my skin out and it gives a nice buildable coverage from medium to full depending how much you apply.
It’s appearance is very matte and no powder is required. It maintains its matte finish throughout the day without the need for a powder touch up which is an incredible statement for me to make!
However the coverage doesn’t last all day and towards the end of the afternoon it starts to flake off a bit. It requires a touch up later on if you go out in the evening but after that it will last until bed time.
It also settles slightly into fine lines around the chin and eyes but not as bad as others that I have experienced.
My only major qualm with this is that it smells really weird but once you’ve applied it you don’t smell it again.
If you have oily skin I would definitely recommend this foundation as it keeps your skin matte without drying it out.
You can get this for £13.50 from Boots here and its often on offer when they have their £3 off vouchers or it’s on buy one get one half price or on 3 for 2!
They have such a variety of shades to suit every skin tone and they even do a match making service to match you to the right colour for you. I’m Cool Ivory which is a little bit dark for me but the cool tones really compliment my skin tone and the darkness isn’t obvious once it’s applied.
Has anyone else tried this? What did you think? Has anyone else tried another mattifying foundation they would recommend? Let me know in the comments!
