Helmies review

Helmies are a new addition to the nail scene – nail helmets. They’re little rubber thimble shapes that go over your fingers when your nails are freshly painted to save them from chipping or smudging.

The premise of these little guys  is good and I was so hoping that these were the answer to my nail varnish prayers, however my prayers were short lived.

They’re difficult to put on at the best of times but once you’ve got one set on one hand it’s even harder to put the other set on! I had to get my boyfriend to give me a hand (pun not intended)

They do also touch your actual nail so don’t put these on until your nails are dry. They can only really prevent you catching them whilst they’re still slightly tacky.

They also make it difficult to do anything whilst you have them on and they fall off really easily.

So overall they’re only useful when you’re sat still doing nothing after painting your nails and not really for doing actual proper things.

They cost £7.99 to buy.

I am slightly disappointed these weren’t what I hoped. Not sure I’ll use these again but maybe I’ll give them one more go?!

Have you tried these yet? What did you think to the experience? Let me know below!

I feel like they would dent my polishes even worse than if I had nothing on! Gimmicky…

Yeah it has to be almost fully dry – I’m guessing it would stop them denting if you whacked it? I’m not sure I probably won’t use them again lol!
