So this month I had actually cancelled Glossybox due to May being disappointing for me but I had done it too late and got sent Junes anyway. Obviously this is a very subjective opinion and I understand others enjoyed recent boxes but for me they were just not cutting it.
So I was wondering whether June would impress me seeing as I had no choice in the matter and when I opened it all I could think was that I’m glad I’ve cancelled! Sorry Glossybox! Here’s what was in Junes box.
This month they were back to the signature pink box with black ribbon which I love I think they look so effective and modern. I would also recommend you check out the Glossybox blog where they share some fab DIY things you can do with your boxes such as letter lights and nail varnish display stands.

Ladival Sun rotection Spray and De Bruyere After Sun Lotion Monoi
So for me personally, sun protection lotion and after sun are essential necessities when you go on holiday and sit out in the sun and something I would buy as a matter of course. It isn’t something I see as a treat that I would be happy to receive in a monthly beauty box.
So for me I am very disappointed that two of my products have been taken up by something I would buy at Boots for less than half of the price that these RRP at. I’ve also had my sunny holiday this year so can’t even use them for a holiday!
The sun protection lotion is £19.99 which is very expensive and does make the box good value for money compared to what I’ve paid, but I wouldn’t buy this myself. I do like my sun cream in spray form so will use this if we manage to get some more sun any time soon! The after sun lotion is £9.48 and again I wouldn’t pay for this, no matter how pretty the packaging is!
Emite Makeup Cheek and Lip Tint
I like trying out new makeup brands and I like the packaging of this tube. However I am always dubious about trying something that can work on both your cheeks and lips. Red isn’t a seasonal colour at the moment, so for that I am annoyed this is included in a summer themed box.
In terms of application, this is patchy and a bit runny and I can’t see it working for cheeks at all. After wiping the swatch off my arm, it stained it for a long time so it does have a good tinting longevity and I can imagine it could be good for your lips but I shan’t give it it a go whilst summer brights are in.
Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream to Brighten and Depuff
With an RRP of £20, this sounds like an amazing product to be included in the box, but look how small it is! Hardly even worth including it! I have always wanted to try this so I have to say I am glad to have it but it’s such a stingy sample.
Spa To You Konjac Sponge
Not quite sure what to say about this really, its a sponge? Not even something I would ever by myself let alone one that cost £6.99.
So I’m disappointed to say I wasn’t impressed again, Glossybox just isn’t for me and I totally understand that is such a subjective opinion and not everyone feels the same as I do. I have cancelled my subscription and probably won’t start it up again.
