Right guys I know this is a bold claim but my favourite liquid lipstick at the moment is the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet.
They have been around for a while and I’ve been using them for ages and after trying umpteen other liquid lipsticks I can safely say these are up there with the best of the drugstore offerings.
So why do I love them so much you ask?!
These liquid lipsticks dry to a matte finish. There are a lot of things I look for in a liquid lipstick so let me tell how it performs.
These have a doe foot applicator and they apply like a dream! It’s really easy to navigate for no bleeding or messiness. They turn matte immediately on touching the lips but have such a nice velvet feel. The square lid is super easy to hold and the short wand allows you full control and makes for easy application.
These babies are long lasting enough that even after you’ve eaten you still have a tint of the colour without it looking bad so there’s no need to add anymore straight away. You won’t need to reapply that much over the night. These are not at all drying they’re super comfortable to wear, you won’t even notice that you have it on!
The clear square tube exposing the colour, black writing and a square lid to match the colour make the packaging so attractive and very aesthetically pleasing. These are unlike any other liquid lipstick I’ve seen so far. There’s something about the look of these I just love!
There is huge variety of colours in this range so you won’t be short of choice. That being said they’re mainly pinks and nudes but a big choice within these wide ranging categories.
I have the colours Don’t Pink Of It no. 10 which is a dusky light pink, So Hap’Pink no. 11 which is a brighter rose pink and Beau Brun no. 12 which is a burnt rust colour. (I know right, they even have cool names!) Don’t pink of it is my absolute fave I wear it all the time!
This is the bit you’ve all been waiting for, don’t deny it we love a good swatch! These were done in daylight outside so are a pretty good representation of the colour. On the arm they took a little longer to dry matte than when on the lips!
PRICE AND WHERE TO BUY
These are a little on the pricey side for a drugstore at RRP £8.99 each but to me they are worth it! If you get them on offer its even better value. Buy them at Boots here.
So overall these are fab liquid lipsticks I have yet to fault them at all! Have you tried these yet? Will you? Let me know below!
