Whenever I hear the words new, matte and lipstick in the same sentence I get very excited! So you can imagine my reaction to the new SEVENTEEN Mega Matte launch!
The lovely people at Seventeen very kindly sent me three very colourful lipsticks to try and I purchased two nude more versatile colours to try as well and tried them all in one go.
So here I have swatches and a review for you!
You can’t go wrong with matte black packaging, I especially like the shiny chevron stripes that give the lipsticks a new unique edge.
The lipsticks are light weight and have a fab round bullet rather than the usual point.
There are a wide range of colours to choose from with fab names! The colours I have from bottom to top are:
Nude News, In the Buff, Back to the Fuchsia, Roses and Red and Violet Shimmer.
The shape of the bullets mean you can actually apply this really well and it doesn’t make much of a mess (although maybe that’s just me, I am a very messy makeup applier!)
They are really creamy and pigmented enough but a couple of swipes are needed to build sufficient colour.
These dry to a matte finish and last well and don’t feel drying on your lips unless you’ve re-applied numerous times. Throughout the day if I apply 3 or 4 times it begins to dry my lips out a bit but it still doesn’t feel uncomfortable. They need a top up after eating but not a complete re-application! The nude is the least pigmented of them all.
These are £4.49 each which is a bargain for a good matte lipstick! You can buy these here.
Nude News is a very peachy nude and is great for everyday.
In the Buff is a browny red which is quite dark when applied, this will be a great autumn pick!
Back to the Fuchsia is a gorgeous bright pink and will be fab on nights out.
Roses and Red is an orange toned red that’s a great day time red.
Violet Shimmer is so beautiful! It has a gorgeous shimmer with silver undertones and it’s super pretty! I would wear this on a night out and can’t wait to find an outfit that will go with it!
Have you tried these yet? What do you think? Let me know below!
