Bio-Essence are a new brand to the market that have announced themselves with their 24K Bio-Gold products.
Any product that claims to have a miracle finish is one I am very intrigued about. Does such a thing exist? Bio Essence claim just that with their 24k Bio-Gold Miracle Finisher.
A serum that claims to be the final step in skincare and add a healthy glow and protect your skin. So does it live up to it’s suggestions?
The serum is supposed to have a light-weight breathable texture that adheres perfectly onto the skin. It contains 24K Bio-Gold, Bio Mineral Amino Acid and Bio Energy Fluid and claims to protect skin against harmful makeup and pollutants.
It apparently forms an invisible protective layer over skin to hinder pollutants and helps prevent harmful cosmetic ingredients from having direct contact with skin, thus reducing skin irritation and clogged pores. It has a matte finish and smoothes the skin creating a smooth canvas for better makeup application and lasting power.
The packaging itself is clear plastic with chrome gold at each end and topped with a gold pump and clear plastic lid. Personally I would expect the tube to be glass, considering this is quite an expensive product, but I guess it means more money has been pumped into the product than it’s packaging. Plus it makes it lightweight for travelling purposes.
The texture of the serum is one you would expect from a primer – it’s velvety texture applies smoothly onto the skin. The scent reminds me of sun cream which is quite a pleasant scent! The serum is white, which I wasn’t expecting as it looks beige in the tube, with tiny flecks of gold.
APPLICATION + WEAR
The serum soaks nicely into the skin, so it doesn’t feel sticky and it leaves the skin feeling smooth. One pump doesn’t spread very far but neither does it coagulate and go all bitty which can happen from some primers or serums. I would say one pump covers the cheeks and one covers the forehead. It kept my forehead matte which is an achievement in itself! It applies nicely under makeup as well.
The Miracle Finisher retails at £29.95 for 30ml of product which is an expensive price for essentially a primer. However when you compare this to other matte primers such as Benefit Porefessional, this price point is on par and the Miracle Finisher claims to do more than Porefessional. You can buy this exclusively from Superdrug and it is sometimes on offer so keep an eye out!
Whilst this is an expensive price point for a primer from a brand that I have never heard of before, I think considering everything the product can do, it’s worth the price especially compared to other similar high end products. I really enjoyed using this as it has a nice smooth matte finish!
