It’s no secret I’m loving Urban Decay at the moment and for good reason. Their new releases slay the game every time, so when they released new setting sprays I knew I needed to get my hands on one.
Not only did they update the packaging of the existing setting sprays they added new ones to the family too. I loved the results of the All Nighter, but as an oily skinned gal I wanted to give the De-Slick Spray a go as anything that can keep oil at bay gets a yes from me.
Before I moved away, I grabbed a full size bottle to take with me as if this can’t keep my makeup on in a warmer climate, nothing can!
First of all, can we talk about the packaging and how gorgeous it is! Matte black with lilac writing and an iridescent lilac spray top. “De-Slick” is written in every bloggers favourite faux-hand written font with the signature UD logo above. It has a small clear lid on the spray top which sits under a larger cloudy plastic topper.
De-Slick is oil free, paraben free and has temperature control. Is there a more perfect product for hot and sweaty days?!
When I went to a makeup event at House of Fraser, I had a makeover with Urban Decay and a very knowledgeable MUA who recommended 8-10 spritz of this stuff to keep your makeup in place. The spritz is of course a perfect mist and sprays over a decent area. It isn’t wet and isn’t like a spray.
So the big question is, does it work? The answer to that, is yes, yes it does. It works properly with proper makeup, not so much with a BB cream and not if you sit directly out in the sun.
But on a sweaty evening when you’re going out, it really does help makeup stay put. On top of that, it keeps shine at bay. Amazing!
Not too sure about the temperature control claim, cos I didn’t feel any cooler than usual, but as a makeup setting spray, then it ticks the box.
It’s the best setting spray I’ve ever encountered for oily skin and I would recommend it to anyone. It’s £23.50 for 118ml and whilst this is pricey, I would re-purchase it.
Have you tried this or any of the other setting sprays from UD? What do you think? Let me know in the comments below!
