Festive Makeup Picks

I think makeup this time of the year has to be my favourite to play with – you can’t beat adding lots of glitter, gold and red to create a festive makeup look.

I’ve gathered together my favourite picks for festive makeup this year, whether its for a Christmas party, an evening at the panto or Christmas day.

That’s the best thing about Christmas, you can wear festive makeup all the time and it’s acceptable to be super glittery in the middle of the day!

I love to go all out with gold and glitter and a dash of red for my festive looks. For the base it has to be the ever trusty Estee Lauder Double Wear which stays put whilst you stuff your face or dance the night away!

For the eyes I couldn’t not mention the Stila Magnificent Metals! The glittery goodness in the form of a liquid shadow is the most festive eye look you can find and I’ve been using the red shades as well as the gold and bronze for every festive look possible.

Team it with a bronze, gold and brown toned palette such as Urban Decay Naked 2 and you’ve got a complete look! Finish with a couple of  coats of Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and you’re good to go with voluminous lashes that last.

The cheeks need a flush of colour and my blush of choice is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Diffused Heat.

Team with a golden highlight such as the Too Faced Love Light Prismatic Highlight in You Light Up My Life and you will shine as much as the baubals on the tree!

For the lips, you can’t go wrong with a good old fashioned red and my favourite at the moment is Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Lost Cherry. To add a bit of sparkle I’m loving the metallic trend at the moment and the Barry M Matte Me Up Liquid Lipstick in Bittersweet is a gorgeous dark red metallic guaranteed to stay put during Christmas dinner and a glass of Baileys or two (or three or four..!)

Finish with a spritz of your favourite setting spray and you are good to go! What are your favourite festive makeup picks? I’d love to know in the comments below!
