Collection Eyes Uncovered Nude Rose Palette

Collection are a drug store brand that continue to bring out new products that can rival those on the high end spectrum for such a good bargain price.

They’ve had the original Eyes Uncovered palette for a while now so it was about time there was a variation of the colours – enter the Nude Rose palette!

This is currently on offer for £2.99 at Boots here as an introductory offer soon to go up to £3.99 which is still a good price so I couldn’t resist picking this up!

The colours are a gorgeous mix of rose pinks and rose golds with a champagne coloured highlight and a very dark purple.

The packaging is quite a flimsy cardboard and it could be a bit nicer but this doesn’t take away from the prettiness of the eye shadows.

I swatched them and it took a couple of swipes to build a good colour on my arm using the sponge applicator supplied but happily using an eyeshadow brush when applying it on my eyes it didn’t take much building to get a good colour.

Number 1 as you can see is very light and is great as a highlighter, 2 is more of a golden pink, 3 is a rose gold, 4 is a coral gold, 5 is a dusky purple gold and 6 is actually more black than it looks in the palette with purple specks in it which isn’t what I would have expected from the pan.

An eyeshadow brush is much better with this palette than the sponge and provides for smooth application on the lids and it is easily blended.

The only qualm I have with this palette is I needed a neutral matte shadow for my base which this palette doesn’t have so to get the look you need another palette/shadow.

To get this look I used a neutral matte shadow from another palette. I applied number 5 (on the numbers above) to the outer corner and round the crease. Then I added number 2 to the inner half of the lid. Then I dabbed number 1 over the inner corners of my eyes. To finish I swiped a bit of number 5 under the outer half of my bottom lashes.

The shadows aren’t too chalky and you don’t experience much fall out on application. The shadows are shimmery without being glittery with the exception of number 6 and are subtle enough for day time wear. The wear lasts as well.

This palette is great for day time wear for a nude pink look and is perfect for the upcoming spring season.
