Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick Review and Swatches

Liquid Lipsticks are all the rage right now especially thanks to Kylie Jenner and ColorPop and I have wanted to try a good one for a while now but they are not easily available to buy in the UK.

Gerard Cosmetics is a brand I haven’t heard much about until recently when I saw their liquid lipsticks all over Instagram.

I was instantly in love and knew I had to get my hands on one. I finally took the plunge and made a cheeky Beauty Bay order and ordered the colour Ecstacy.

Ecstasy is a gorgeous dusky purple colour which is somehow unlike anything I already have.

I love the packaging with the frosted tube and the trademark GC gold lid.

The application is matte on the lips but it isn’t super drying but feels a bit dry after a long  while of having it on. It doesn’t apply dry though it’s easy to apply on the lips.

My gosh does it last!! It passes the food and cocktail test with flying colours and was still on after a big meal and some cocktails.

It’s blooming hard to get off too, I had a stain on my arm for the rest of the day after that swatch and I had to use Micellar Water to scrub it off my lips!

I absolutely love this Liquid Lipstick and I especially love the colour. They are from Beauty Bay and are about £10 sometimes on offer. Definitely worth the investment.

Have you tried anything from GC? What did you think? Let me know below!

Very pretty color. But I’m wary of Gerard Cosmetics as they had some controversy last year. On Snapchat, the owner of Gerard, was caught along with MannyMUA calling a vlogger who gave GC a negative review “ugly”. Plus Jaclyn Hill severed her ties/affiliation with Gerard for unknown reasons. And she collaborated on several lipsticks with them. Apparently they still make the shades Jaclyn did but her name is no longer associated with them.

Yeah. I lost a lot of respect for Manny after that and unfollowed him on YouTube. He just started coming across more as bitchy than sassy.

Yeah I don’t blame you! That definitely is the sassy it’s horrible! Especially for such a public figure!

            Sassy I like. Bitchy I don’t.
