Loreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Dry Shampoo Review

Elvive Extraordinary Clay is a new range to Loreal’s haircare and it is aimed at those with greasy roots but dry ends. They also do a pre-shampoo treatment and a shampoo and conditioner but at the time when I was browsing Boots I had just finished dry shampoo and needed a new one so I just picked this one up for the time being.

Dry shampoo is my best friend as my hair takes SO long to wash dry and straighten as it’s very thick, frizzy and wavy so I don’t have time to do it that often, so in between washes it is a god send!

I have tried my fair share of dry shampoos and I always keep going back to the Batiste blonde bottle, I am yet to find on to beat that for me!

So anyway, my life story over, it’s time to review this one.

This bottle is £3.99 for a fairly small bottle, which isn’t too bad considering Loreal is a well respected brand.

Now this stuff does smell lovely for a dry shampoo as I am yet to find a good one that smells as fresh as this.

It claims to be invisible, which, I will give it it’s dues, it is. However, here comes the disappointing truth, it doesn’t soak up oil very well. It does to a certain extent but not to the perfection that Batiste manages to.

I do continue to use this as a hair perfume and just spritz it all over when I’m ready for a wash as it has a nice fresh scent. But I won’t repurchase it as a dry shampoo.

That isn’t to say that it wouldn’t work for someone else’s hair as everyone is different, but for someone that has very oily roots towards the end of a wash, this doesn’t cut it for me.

Have you tried this or anything from the range? Let me know below!
