Hair care picks from Philip Kingsley

My hair is something that requires a lot of looking after as it’s very high maintenance. It needs all the help it can get to de-frizz, smooth and repair as I have so much of it and it’s an absolute nightmare to do anything with so it goes through a lot of brushing and heat damage.

Philip Kingsley is a brand of haircare I’ve never gotten around to trying despite seeing so much of it in the blogosphere so I was so happy to be able to try it now, thanks to All Beauty.

I have the PK Prep Perfecting Spray and the Daily Damage Defence Spray* to put to the test and report the results back to you!

PK Prep Perfecting Spray

“The ultimate multi-tasking blow dry spray”

Phillip Kingsley PK Prep Spray.jpeg

What it does

This is a lightweight primer that smooths and controls whilst delivering volume as well.

This is a 125ml white plastic bottle with a shiny finish, silver mirrored top with a spray mechanism.

How to use

Spray onto towel dried hair before blow drying, concentrating on the mid lengths and ends of the hair.

How does it perform

The spray has a fine mist that covers a large surface area of the hair. This is my favourite kind of spritz as there’s nothing worse than having the smallest spritz that covers the area of an ant! You know you will get an even and decent coverage.

What are the results

Using this has really helped to control my hair when I dry it, which is a miracle because my thick, frizzy and sometimes curly (whenever it fancies) hair takes a hella lot of taming when it comes to styling! This is a yes from me!

Daily Damage Defence Spray

“Anti-breakage, heat protecting, conditioning spray”

What it does

This is a leave in formula that helps to protect hair from heat, breakage and damage.

This is a whopping 250ml white matte finish plastic bottle with a clear top and spray mechanism.

How to use

Spray onto the hair when it has been towel dried, before blow drying, focusing on the mid lengths and ends of the hair (especially if you have finer hair.)

How does it perform

This bottle is huge and this is the same with the spritz radius – a lovely wife ranging mist which smells incredible!

What are the results

After blow drying and straightening my hair, it feels in a much better condition; it feels moisturised and silky. It also smells lush! Anything that can help the condition of my frizzy and damaged hair gets a huge tick from me.

This has also won an award for Best in Beauty in the Stylist 2017 awards, that’s how you know it’s good! Plus the huge bottle size will last you ages and I think it’s well worth the investment.

Having these two products in my hair care routine have really improved the condition of my hair and the blow drying experience and these are ones I will definitely look to replace when they finish. I think investing in good hair care is a must as for me hair is as important as your skin to look after!

If you have hair that needs smoothing or controlling I would recommend the PK Prep Perfecting Spray and if you need some extra TLC in terms of conditioning and heat protecting, I would advise you to pick up a Daily Damage Defence! Or if you’re like me and need both, they’ve both made a difference to my hard to tame mane!
